During the Xinhai Revolution, Yi Hong, a young patriotic intellectual person, came to Mu Du with passion and a desire to save the country. He met a group of young people in Mu Du, including Zi Xin, a tea lady; Ruo Xian, a lyre lady; Zhi Hua, a paint lady; Zhi Jin, an embroider lady; Wang Da Zhi, Zi Xin's fiancé, and Chen Jia Ming, a playboy who loves Ruo Xian. The two sisters, Zhi Jin and Zhi Hua, both fall in love with Yi Hong. But Zhi Hua was forced to leave the country in order to let her sister and Yi Hong be together; Ruo Xian and Dai Siyuan are bound by a lyre but cannot be together. And Yi Hong does not give up his pursuit of Ruo Xian; Zi Xin and Wang Da Zhi, a happy couple, go through many difficulties. Finally, Zi Xin insisted on marrying Dazhi at a critical moment when the war broke out. Together, they experienced the collapse of the Qing Dynasty, the spread of the ideology of the Reformation, the defence of Mu Du, the rescue of the wounded of the revolutionary army, and the outbreak of the war against the country's enemy.
