Lolo, a woman living with her mother in Taipei Old Town, finds a landscape photograph tucked between the pages of her old book. On the back of the photo was written the name of her Japanese father, whose face she did not even know. Lolo had learned from her mother that her father abandoned them shortly after she was born and returned to his hometown of Okinawa. In order to meet her father and find out the truth, Lolo invites her friend Aaron, who is studying Japanese, to travel to Okinawa. However, using her photo as a clue, they headed to Miyako Island, which was closed to outsiders for three days during the Obon holidays.
