The story revolves around two men in a long hostile relationship: police officer Ozeki Tatsuro and journalist Itagaki Kohei. 25 years ago, Itagaki wrote an article about Ozeki's investigation of a case, and consequently, Ozeki was dropped from the post. Meanwhile, Itagaki was playing an active role as a journalist while incurring hatred from politicians and major companies. The drama begins as the two, who are now retired from the front line, meet again in Tokyo.
