‟Daybreak‟ tells the story of a store and people over three generations. ‟Yongsheng Soy Milk,‟ which sells traditional breakfast, first started as a small stall run by Lao Hsv, his wife Ya Ling, and his friend Lao Chiang after they settled in Tainan's Fucheng town. Since then, the stall has become an old shop that is loved by the community. For the Hsv family, however, life is not that sweet. Li I, the eldest daughter, took over the maternal role after her mother’s death and sacrificed her youth. Li Hsin, the youngest daughter who seems free, actually has a secret childhood trauma. Lao Hsv cares for his children but never says it. Together, they are a family of people with scarred hearts. Fortunately, they still have good memories.
