Pal Bul Chul, a mere servant, escapes from his master seduced by Maeng Sun who got raped by her master. In an abandoned house, he rescues Maeng Sun from pirates and confesses his love for her, but she soon realizes that he was only interested in the food from her bag. Bul Chul again rescues her from a criminal Tul Bo and gets a reward from the governor. Maeng Sun parts with a new master and Bul Chul catches a ghost by a pond and earns himself the privilege to marry Kim's daughter, but he wanders off to meet Maeng Sun who got kicked out from her last job.
