The story is set in 1990 in a small city near the bank river. Quan Liang is a security guard in a local factory, and has been blamed for all the events that are taking place on the nearby river, no matter how bizarre and supernatural they sound. The biggest problem is that, indeed, Liang seems to be involved, in one way or another, with strange events taking place in the city. Solving the case, though, is even more difficult since there are various legends circulating about demons and gold hidden in the city. Soon, an increasing number of residents decide to discover the truth behind the mysterious incidents and try for once and for all to confirm or deny the existence of supernatural phenomena. However, it turns out that not all of them care about the truth, and finding what is the work of man and what is legend is not as easy as they thought.
