A protest by fisherman against a local factory's water pollution is interrupted by the self-immolation of a man, who becomes the hero of the movement. Forensic doctor Zhou Jiansheng and prosecutor Jin Minzhao team up to investigate the mysterious circumstances of the death, whose autopsy results do not match up with the public story.
