In the year of Imjin, two hundred thousand Japanese soldiers led by Konishi conquer Pyongyang. Two famous gisaengs of Pyongyang, Gye Wol Hyang and Chae Ran try to escape Pyongyang, but Chae Ran is raped and killed by a Japanese soldier and Wol Hyang kills a soldier in self-defense. She is dragged by Konishi, the commander of the invading force, and is kept in the camp. She gives herself to him, but remembers the words of her lover Kim Kyung Suh and decides to kill him. Meanwhile, Kim Kyung Suh gathers his scattered men and waits for a chance to reclaim Pyongyang.
