While out on a drive with his wife and daughter, businessman Hideki pulls over to use a payphone. He finds a newspaper in the phone booth and looks at it... to his shock, it has an article about his daughter dying in a car accident. He keeps reading, and it says she dies right about now. His wife gets out of the car for a second, and just then, a truck rams into his car, killing his daughter. Then, the newspaper fades away. After this moment, Hideki's life changed forever. He is now obsessed with finding out more about these mysterious newspapers that foretell the future. He searches for other people who, like him, have seen these newspapers.
