After Hsiang’s husband borrowed a huge sum of money from an underground money shop and then disappeared without a trace, she is left a single mother burdened with her husband’s massive debt. Hsiang is incessantly badgered by debt collectors, but has no way to pay the money back and is pushed toward suicide in her desperation. However, after receiving threats to her son’s life, she is forced to come to an agreement with the lender and they plan a dramatic scheme of insurance fraud do come up with the money.
