An omnibus movie centered around individuals who have left and the people they left behind. ‟Someday You'll Be Forgotten‟ On a house in the countryside is a nameplate with the names of five Watanabe family members. But inside, at the breakfast table, sit only the mother, father, high school daughter, and grandmother of the family. Missing from the table is the eldest son, who had previously left his hometown to pursue his passion for music. One day, on the way to school, the daughter watches as her mother drives to the train station. ‟88 Temple Pilgrimage‟ In the summer of 2011, after the Great East Japan Earthquake, Ono evacuated from Tokyo and returned to his parents' home in Ehime. It was then that he met Yoshimi Yamada. Now, Mr. Yamada is a walking pilgrim, ruminating on the life of his late wife and himself. ‟Nobue's Birthmark‟ Nobue, who was born with an ugly birthmark on half of her face, is an introvert and has led an unhappy life. Her husband, Misawa, uses violence against her on a daily basis. One day, unable to take his treatment anymore, Nobue impulsively leaves home and wanders the city with nowhere to go. She was saved by a quiet young man with a disabled leg, who took Nobue back to his old apartment and fed her. Nobue asked why he, who was twenty years younger than her, was so kind to a middle-aged woman like herself. But the young man didn't say anything, just smiled kindly. Meanwhile, Misawa is searching for Nobue by posting missing-person flyers around town. ‟Drunk to Death‟ Ogawa, who calls himself the ‟Weinstein of the independent film industry,‟ collapses one day from a cerebral hemorrhage and is forced to be hospitalized for two months. But after being discharged from the hospital, his partner informs him that he will leave for a younger woman. Distraught, Ogawa starts to wonder about a friend of his who had died 7 years previously and researched his condition. Suddenly concerned that his drinking habits will cause his death, he tries to stop but is continually faced with people recommending that he keeps drinking. Ogawa ponders if he will be punished by the gods if he continues to fail. ‟Smallest Light‟ Kotaro, aged 30, grew up in a single-mother household and currently lives with his girlfriend, Kyoko. But he has no intention of getting married and spends his days working as a security guard. Kotaro's estranged mother, Saki, suddenly comes to see him and tries to make amends after her recent remarriage. However, Kotaro has a hard time forgiving her.
