Song Xue Wen, after picking up and keeping a keychain unknowingly imbued with industrial radiation, has had a multitude of operations - ultimately amputating both of his legs and his left arm, and leaving his right hand with limited functions. Following this, he is mentally distraught, dependent on his parents for everything at the age of 25, and fighting for compensation from the chemical construction company he worked at. After one lonely night, Song Xue Wen mistakenly calls the kindergarten teacher Yang Guang and they strike up an unlikely friendship.
