Shigeki, a freeter moves into a run-down apartment on the outskirts of Tokyo to restart his life. However, he fails to pay the security deposit and rent. As he is about to be kicked out, he meets the earthbound spirit Yoji in his apartment. Shigeki asks Yoji to prove his existence to the real estate agent to negotiate a lower payment.
