A story about three brothers during the Republican era who set aside their differences during the country's time of need. During the 1920's, the six provinces of Jiangdong were under the control of the military and the triad. Despite their opposite backgrounds, Jing Shi Chen and Gu Zhao Li have been friends since they were young. Both were abducted by a human smuggler and in captivity, they meet a beggar named Ming Zi. After escaping, the three go on to become sworn brothers. Years later, Gu Zhao Li takes over as the leader of the triads. Jing Shi Chen follows in his father's footsteps to become a military officer. Ming Zi makes a living as an informant. Jing ShinChen commits a grave mistake that turns the brothers against each other. Thought to be dead, Ming Zi returns with a new identity and a thirst for vengeance.
