The Last Emperor 1988 / 末代皇帝 1988 / Legend of Pu Yi , Mo Dai Huang Di

Aisin Gioro Pu Yi, the last emperor of the last feudal dynasty of China, ascended the throne at the age of three. That was a turbulent autumn and the world was in chaos. From his initial appointment as emperor, through his wedding ceremony, to the Yuan family's usurpation of the country and the establishment of the puppet state of Manchukuo, countless intrigues and separations occurred around this last monarch in the past few decades. Pu Yi experienced too much helplessness and sorrow in his life. He was not only a drifter of the times, but also a guide to the flow of history. (Source: Chinese = Douban || Translation = XuongPhim) ~~ Adapted from the autobiography ‟From Emperor to Citizen: The Autobiography of Aisin-Gioro Pu Yi‟ (我的前半生) by Pu Yi (溥儀).
