The Piano in a Factory (2011)

The Piano in a Factory 2011 / 钢的琴 2011 / Gang de qin

Somewhere in Northeastern, China, where everything is covered in snow for most of the year, Chen, who supervises recreational activities at the factory, fights for custody of his daughter against his estranged wife. The court allows their daughter who she wants to live with. The daughter then makes the announcement that she will live with whoever provides her with a piano. Chen attempts to borrow money from friends and even steal a piano, but all those plans fail. He then comes up with the idea to build a piano from scratch.
