Yan Shuang Fei is the story of twin sisters Hua Kaiyan and Hua Chengyan. Kaiyan was rational and independent while Chengyan, who has a very slight intellectual disability, and was simple and innocent. When the twins were young, their father abandoned the family for another woman. They were raised by their mother until she suddenly disappeared one day. They had no choice but to move in with their father and stepmother, who had two sons of her own, Tianyu and Tianwen. Tianwen liked Chengyan although she was devoted to her boyfriend, Zhan Yin. Tianyu cared for Kaiyan, but their love seemed impossible as she still resented his mother for breaking up her parents’ marriage.
