Alone in the Rain (2015)

Alone in the Rain 2015 / 빗속을 혼자서 2015 / bissogeul honjaseo

An old woman tidies the kitchen and listens to the radio, then goes out. It’s raining as she passes a narrow alley and struggles up steep steps before stopping at a door halfway up the hill. She seems to have brought food for someone she knows. No one’s home but the light is on. Thinking maybe they’re asleep, she goes into the room. All we see is that the plants are dead, the drain is moldy, and the food on the table is dried up. As the sound of sirens grows faint, the old woman washes all the dirty dishes and goes home.
