A Catholic woman who went the poor town of Bataya on the banks of the Sumida River, which was said to be the ‟city of ants.‟ It depicts her suffering from chest pains and dying at the young age of 29. It depicts Reiko Kitahara, a scholar who helped the Buraku village.
