A nature documentary on the ecology of the over 50 variety of insects inhabiting Japan taken from an ant's point of view. Kuribayashi Satoshi, an internationally recognized expert in insect photography, takes on cinematography duties and with a specially modified endoscope camera for extreme close-ups, reveals the unknown struggle for survival of insects. A rhinoceros beetle, a stag beetle, and a hornet's deadly struggle over sap, the instant a praying mantis brings down a grasshopper with its sharp sickles, and a band of ants assaulting prey much bigger than themselves are among presented.
