It weaves together six stories about different people faced with surprises and crossroads as they head to see their loved ones on New Year's Eve. As she arranges her 100th wedding, seasoned wedding planner Jia Yi feels the impulse to get married herself, but her boyfriend, who witnessed his parents' failed marriage, has reservations about taking the plunge. Retired gymnast Nana goes into labor on New Year's Eve, and her husband, superstar Jing Ming, intends to be by her side. However, as the night wears on, his obligations to appear on a countdown show beckon, and he must make a choice between work and family. After catching suspect Hou Zi, workaholic cops Zhong Wei and Ya Lun agree to let him bid farewell to his grandmother, thus awakening their own thoughts about family.
