Dryads in a Snow Valley 2015 / 風の波紋 2015 / Kaze no Hamon

Documentary about people living in the snowbelt region of Niigata Prefecture near the Nagano Prefecture border. Mr. and Mrs. Kogure relocate from the city to Echigo Tsumari and settle in a ‟satoyama,‟ a place in the mountains where people live in harmony with nature. They renovate an old farmhouse with a thatch roof and figure out how to harvest rice by following the example of the people around them. Then, one spring morning a huge earthquake hits.
