Paen was born in poverty, with a violent man as a father. When she meets Ying Orn as they are children, she can't help but feel blinded by the contrast between them : Ying Orn is born wealthy, surrounded by the love from her parents, her brother and her friends, including her childhood friend Lek who's in love with her, and also has a heart full of kindness. Ying Orn and her family can't help but pity Paen when they see her life : Ying Orn shows kindness to her and soon, Ying Orn's family decides to adopt Paen out of pity, so that she would have more opportunities in the future. But Paen only grow more and more greedy, and jealous of Ying Orn : quickly, she starts to desire everything Ying Orn has, especially Lek. Lek is the only man Paen has ever truly loved ; however, he has always openly shown his contempt and hatred towards her, because unlike everyone else, he saw right through her materialistic, manipulative, greedy and jealous nature, and always felt her jealousy and bad intentions towards Ying Orn. The fact that Ying Orn also had Lek's utter love and devotion made Paen even more jealous. Paen would then do everything to rise up in society, by using men to her advantage : first, she would use Rachanat, Ying Orn's brother while also seducing Thern, their childhood friend, a simple servant. On her journey of rising up, she would keep hurting everyone around her, shamelessly coveting more and more, getting more and more greedy, even when she could be satisfied with what she had. Her selfishness and greediness will eventually lead her to lose everyone's love and esteem, including the only one she truly loves and wants, Lek.
