Hatomura Shugoro was contacted by Kawakami Tsugumi, who had lived with him in the past, to meet her at a snowy mountain pension. Tsugumi, who is pleased with her reunion with Shugoro, introduces her owner, Taniyama Kuniko and others to Shugoro. In addition to Shugoro, the pension includes Hoshino Kazuko, a well-known welfare critic, Hoshino Akihisa, Yasuyo's husband and secretary, Okumura Yoji, and his wife Mika (Anami Atsuko) and others, there were many guests. The next morning, Tsugumi tells Shugoro that one of the guests, Hattori Yusuke, cannot be seen. Shugoro searches in the snowy mountain forest with Kuniko and others. Komuro was investigating a murder case that occurred in Tokyo. She was visiting a snowy mountain pension because the murdered woman was looking at the homepage of the pension where Tsugumi works before her life. Shugoro is surprised to see a picture of a man who seems to be a female lover from Komuro. Hattori was shown in the photo. And, as a result of the investigation, Hattori's corpse is discovered...
