Yokohama. Early in the morning, I received a phone call from Kanagawa Prefectural Police chief Hamada at the home of Niijima, a professor of forensic medicine at Kanagawa Medical University, asking me to dissect the corpse. When Niijima read the newspaper, the article was headlined ‟A 13-year-old girl kills her mother.‟ As a result of a judicial autopsy with a young classroom member Akira Kobayashi, it was found that the cause of death was illness due to alcoholic cirrhosis, and it is not a murder crime after all. A junior high school girl who also saw the newspaper disappeared thinking she was murdering and was trying to commit suicide. The girl calls her home and Kobayashi persuades her, but she doesn't trust her. As a further measure, Niijima desperately calls for a TV wide show program, but Niijima and newspaper reporter Takada will be in trouble with the interview. Can the girl be found safely?
