Gentaku Ikenaka (Toshiyuki Nishida) was a dedicated photographer at Daikyo Tsushinsha , whose life work consisted of taking photographs of birds, especially the crowned crane , while he was shooting the news . It was a day of intense conversations with editor-in-chief Kusunoki ( Hiroyuki Nagato ) over news photos. One day, Genta gets to know the widow Tsuruko (Mitsuko Oka) who has a child and gets married. Tsuruko's three daughters, Eri (Kaoru Sugita), Mirai (Kanako Arima), and Yako (Rika Abiko), started living together with five of them without being attached to Genta. At first, the three daughters kept their distance from Genta, but as soon as they became able to get closer to Genta, his wife, Tsuruko, fell down due to cerebral hemorrhage and became a person who would never return. In the surroundings, against the remaining three children, it is impossible to grow up with another person's Genta, but Genta says that it is a promise with Tsuruko, and he declares that he will raise up three children brilliantly.
