Ichito Kurihara is a physician at a small hospital in Nagano Prefecture that is short on doctors leaving him to cover many specialities and having to work as many as three days in a row without sleep. Only with the support of his wife Haru can he maintain this busy pace. Soon he finds himself facing a difficult decision when his graduating university hospital makes him an enticing employment offer. The position would allow him more time with Haru and to learn cutting-edge techniques and other medical advances.
