Konomichi 2019 / この道 2019 / This Old Road: Konomichi

Hakushu Kitahara is a genius poet who lives his life with reckless abandon. He constantly drinks excessively and has affairs with married women. Meanwhile, Kosaku Yamada is a hard working musician. They are asked by a magazine on children literature to write children's songs together. Even though these two men are polar opposites and argue frequently, they are able to make lots of songs to cheer up the children. They are then ordered to write a war song to send children into the battlefield.
