Yu Rou is a struggling mother who takes extreme measures to raise enough money to pay for her daughter’s medical bills. Her daughter Xiao Hong, is diagnosed with Bardet-Biedl syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by obesity and degenerative eyesight. Ruby and her husband Kai Hsiang, take turns driving taxis to earn a living. While driving a client, Yu Rou overhears a conversation about how easy it was to gain access of money if she becomes the mistress of a wealthy businessman.
