Film adaptation of ‟Yamaai no Smoke‟ based on Yoshiko Shigekane book. Toshio Segawa left the seaside house as usual in the morning and headed for work. He is an employee of the crematorium. However, no one, including his father, whom he maintains, and his beloved Masako, don't understand the nature of his work. Everything changes, when one day Toshio saves unknown to him woman, from suicide.
