An omnibus film contains 4 stories: YURAI HOSHIBOSHI WARAUMADE (ゆらい、ほしぼし、笑うまで): Due to circumstances both at school and at home, two emotionally hurt 17-year-old high school girls move away from Okinawa and into a foster care home, ‟Keten‟. Enveloped by Granny Setsuko's affection and the graces of nature, the pair's hearts slowly mend. SUKEBO (すけ坊): Hirosuke has quit being a rakugo (comical stories) storyteller. Just as his father had been, Hirosuke is working as a product pitchman at a supermarket when he sees before him an associate from his rakugo years and a lady who knew his late father. Then, a former lover also turns upbringing with her a child she claims Hirosuke fathered. MADOROSU (まどろす): In the mid-1950s, college students hoping to become enka singers have practiced Misora Hibari's 'Minato-machi Ju-san-ban-chi' for a singing competition. Criticized for the song by disabled veterans, the students sneak into ‟Madorosu Bar‟ to further understand the song's lyrics. IRO WA HIKARI (色はヒカリ): Yuta, Taiki, Kei, and Ikunosuke meet for the first time when they gather as day laborers for a moving company. Without time to get to know each other, and crammed into the cargo area, the mood among them was unpleasant. Then, in the total darkness of the truck, they notice a miraculous image projected against the wall.
