The story begins with Hau, owner of a small congee restaurant, who has brought up her neighbor's two kids, Kong and Ching, and also her own son Wong. Kong's father is imprisoned due to a false accusation, and Kong has aspired to become a lawyer ever since he was a kid. New lawyer Yan joins Kong's law firm, and the two soon become good friends.
