Su Ruo Ying confronts her husband, Song Qing, about a woman with whom he seems to have an affair. He admits to her that he has never loved her, and shortly after, she is killed by that woman, Shen Rou - her maid and closest friend. The only person to stand up for her is her friend, Pei Zhuang Zhu, who fights with Song Qing and kills Shen Rou. Somehow she wakes up unharmed and thinks it might be a dream or rebirth, but wonders why her bracelet is gone and her clothes seem to be someone else’s. When she walks into the courtyard of her house, she sees Shen Rou and Song Qing getting married. She realizes that even if the people are the same, a lot has changed. Shen Rou and SuSu seem to have switched lives, so now SuSu has become the maid of Shen Rou. But things might not be as simple as that. The day she enters the house, she is forced to drink by Song Qing and is afterwards beaten and thrown out of the house by a jealous Shen Rou. Fortunately, Pei Zhuang Zhu saves her and takes her in, lying about her being dead. But saving her life leads him to use a dangerous medicine that completely changes her personality.
