This movie is about the story after the Monk Tang and his disciples (The Monkey King, Pigsy and Monk Sha) returned back from the West. A modern boy Sun Tianlei does nothing, just drifts along. Then he is set up by a scoundrel and his heirloom is taken away too. Next he is transported to ancient time and everyone regards him as the Monkey King.
