In 1734, ten years into King Yeong Jo's reign, Hak Gyu, a talented pansori singer, travels all over Joseon in search of his kidnapped wife, Gan Nan, while telling his sorrow and joy-filled story through song. One by one, as people begin following Hak Gyu's journey, a band of entertainers led by this singer is filled with excitement as the Eight Provinces of Joseon's traveling theater begins.
