The Women's New Knowledge Foundation commissioned director Chen Jun Zhi to shoot the first domestic anti-sexual harassment documentary - ‟The War of Roses‟. Four women with different identities and different environments went through a similar mental journey when they encountered sexual harassment incidents and faced a huge accomplice structure. What kind of gender power relations and social and cultural structures did the sexual harassment incidents reflect? In ‟The War of Roses‟, we will get a glimpse of one or two. In March 1999, a female student at Beijing University of Science and Technology came forward to accuse the professor of sexual harassment. The Women's New Knowledge Foundation called on the social movement group and the Women's Research Institute to jointly form the Little Red Riding Hood Action Alliance to accompany the client. In October 1999, a female general manager of a company who went abroad to participate in an international conference was verbally sexually harassed by a male supervisor in the same industry, fully exposing the current situation in the workplace where gender power overrides professional ability. In January 2000, Chang Gung's female nurse bravely exposed the male doctor's sexual harassment and sued the court for a personality rights lawsuit. In June 2000, female factory workers were peeped at the toilet, but the appeal was unsuccessful, and the working environment was still full of hostility. ‟The War of Roses‟ is a documentary dedicated to all the sisters who did their part to fight back.
