Niidekyo Jo is in charge of Koishikawa Yojosho, a hospital located in Koishikawa, Edo. He treats patients there and cares about their personal problems. He is also referred to as ‟Red Beard.‟ Yasumoto Noboru is a young doctor who often clashes with Niidekyo.
